Oil Region Paranormal Investigation Team Investigations

The Oil Region Paranormal Investigation Team had an investigation on 8-1-09 at the Knickerbocker Hotel in Linesville PA.
This is the third investigation that our team has conducted at the Knickerbocker. We have also assisted on several events in the building. For back round history on the building and the area please visit our past investigation pages for the Knickerbocker.
For this investigation we used the following equipment.

DVR system with four stationary I.R. cameras
1 stationary I.R. MiniDV Camcorder
2 mobile I.R. MiniDV Camcorders
Audio recorders
EMF meters
K2 meters
I.R. digital thermometers
Digital cameras
(other equipment included flashlights, handheld walkies, ect.)

PERSONAL EXPERIENCES

The first personal experience occurred during set up of the DVR cameras. Investigators were on the third floor, near the “angel room” setting up the first DVR camera. Mark was at the monitor directing other investigators to move the camera up, down, left, right for the best picture. After he was pleased with the shot Ryan locked the camera down at the angle and walked from this area to the front area of the third floor and the two new investigators followed to set up a second camera on the third floor.
While setting up the second camera Mark got on the radio and said something to the effect of “what are you doing? That was a good shot, move it back to the right.”
Ryan radioed back to Mark and said that he shouldn’t even have a picture yet for the second camera because the cables were not hooked up yet.
Mark radioed back and said that he was talking about the first camera that was set up. He then followed up by stating “ok that’s good leave it there”.
Ryan then walked from the front of the third floor to the rear portion and asked Mark if he could see him in the monitor. Mark stated that he could. Ryan then had the other two members come from the front portion of the third floor to his location and asked Mark if he could see the other members to which he stated that he could. Ryan then told Mark that they were the only three on the third floor.
Ryan and the other members then checked the rooms off of the hallway and found no one else on the third floor. Ryan also checked the camera and the tripod and found that it was still locked down in the position that he had left it in. The cables were also checked and found to be slack so there was no way they were pulling on the camera.
All investigators present had no explanation for what made the camera turn to the left, then turn back to its original position.
Unfortunately, the team does not start recording on the DVR system until all cameras are set up and the investigation begins. Therefore this event was not captured.
The second personal experience was felt by investigators while on the second floor during an EVP / K2 session.
Investigators were in a room some standing by the door, others sitting on a couch, chairs and the bed. The investigators that were closest to the door would report feeling a very cool draft come through the door and enter the room. As this was felt by some investigators others would report that the “feeling” in the room would change, as though the air got thicker and investigators would feel pressure in the ears.
Investigators attempted to detect a temperature change and in influx in the EMF field, but all attempts came out negative.
During the hour that investigators were in the room this same cycle occurred on five occasions.

CAPTURED DATA

14 hours of video was captured on the DVR system
7 hours of audio and video was captured on the MiniDV camcorders
8 ½ hours of audio was captured on the audio recorders
142 photos were taken with digital cameras

In all of the captured data no evidence was collected.
