Smalls Cemetery Gate
Smalls Cemetery is located near Cooperstown Pa just off of Rt. 427.
There have been many urban legends that this cemetery is the final resting place of a group of witches. Through all of the research that O.R.P.I.T. has done and that other people have contributed to, we have found no evidence of this.
The only record of any type of witchcraft performed was found in local newspapers reporting of the possibility that people were entering the cemetery recently to “practice” witchcraft.
Throughout the years this cemetery has vandalized over and over again with people shooting the headstones, breaking headstones and leaving wax buildup on headstones.
The investigation took place on September 23, 2007. We arrived at the site at 10:15 p.m. to find that the cemetery had a heavy duty metal gate at the access point and the entire site surrounded by wire fencing that had holes throughout. The cemetery was in very nice condition as though individuals had been doing the upkeep for some time.
Due to the closed gate we stood on the outside of the gate and fencing during the time we were there.
For this investigation there was no electrical source in the area so we were constricted to using battery operated equipment.

It was pretty chilly so we only stayed for about an hour. After investigating for an hour we left to go over all of the documentation that had been gathered.

During the investigation we only had one “odd” feeling.
It occurred as soon as we arrived and were standing at the gate. Scott had the E.M.F detector out and had his hand through the gate. He stated that he was getting a cold spot as he waved the meter around and the meter gave a reading of 1.4 through 1.6 and lasted only for a few seconds. I snapped a photo, reviewed it and saw three orbs.
Due to the fact that we were outside walking around we have to reason that these orbs are nothing more than particle orbs. Plus we do not believe that any of the three orbs have the makeup of a true energy orb.

In all of the audio recordings nothing concrete was captured. There were a few times that unknown sources of sound could be heard but nothing that we would say had shown any type of paranormal activity.
Out of the 58 photos taken only three photos had shown any type of activity. They are orb photos taken at different times throughout the investigation.
We did have some varying readings on the thermometers but dismissed this for the most part because we were outside and it was pretty chilly out.
Nothing was captured on the Infrared Camera System or the K2 meter.
