Latonia (Round 2) 8-23-08

Latonia
| The Latonia Theater, Oil City PA |
The Oil Region Paranormal Investigation Team revisited the Latonia Theater in Oil City Pennsylvania on 8-23-08. Investigators arrived at 8:00pm to begin set up.
We spoke with Roxy, one of the theater owners, and asked if there had been any activity since our last investigation.
She stated that there was not much to report other than hearing the whistle in the stage room area on a few occasions.

For round two the following investigators were present: Mark, Scott, Ryan, Larry and Steve.
Investigators set up eight infrared cameras in the following locations.
Camera One: Placed in the main ballroom area.
Camera Two: Placed in the projector room.
Camera Three: Placed on the stage.
Camera Four: Placed to cover the stage room stairs.
Camera Five: Placed in the rear stairwell to the stage rooms.
Camera Six: Placed on the third floor of the stage rooms.
Camera Seven: Green Room
Camera Eight: Kitchen area.
Investigators also used the following equipment:
Mini DV camcorders, digital cameras, audio recorders, infrared thermometers, EMF meters, an etch-o-sketch and the K2 meter along with standard safety equipment like two way radios, flashlights ect.
During the investigation we gathered 1143 photos, a little over 27 hours of audio and slightly over 52 hours of video.
For this investigation one of the owners of the Latonia, Roxy, asked to join our group. Due to the findings that our group had during the last investigation and her own personal experience after the reveal she wanted to see what it was that our group did.
During the investigation all members of the team reported having some type of personal experience.
While in the ball room at the start of the investigation all investigators reported of seeing shadows moving rapidly in the seating area. This occurred for approx. four minutes then stopped. Also while in the ballroom investigators did report of hearing footsteps in the seating area.
Other experiences reported were of hearing music while on the stage and also while in the ballroom. This was reported by one of the investigators and also by Roxy.
The last personal experience to report occurred while Ryan, Mark and Roxy were in the Ballroom and Larry, Scott and Steve were on the stage.
Ryan asked for whatever was in the building to make a loud knocking sound and knocked on the wall to show what we wanted. At the same time Scott and the other team asked whatever was in the building to make a loud noise where it was.
Both teams report of hearing a very loud slamming sound that can be only described as a very heavy door being slammed as hard as it could be.
During the analysis of the evidence one investigator did observe a photo of what appeared to be a full body apparition. After a lot of study and comparison photos we found that the photo was nothing more than VERY impressive matrixing.
The photo was taken in the area of the “green room” where investigators have had a lot of activity. Also the photo seemed to fit the building in that it appeared to be a younger male in a costume that would remind one of an actor performing in a Shakespeare play.
Be sure to check out the “Debunked Photo’s” to check this photo out!
The final occurrence of the night happened when investigators entered one on the stage rooms. Located in the middle of the floor, sitting upright, was an antique medicine bottle.
We thought nothing of this until Roxy asked where it was located. She stated that she had just been cleaning that room a week prior and that she was absolutely certain that there was nothing left in the room and questioned why it was there now.
Our team feels that this is interesting, however, we can not confirm that the medicine bottle was not in the room at the start of our investigation. We checked all photos and video from the start of the night and none showed this room. Therefore we have to assume that the bottle was there.
For the second round of investigating the Latonia again did not let us down. There was a lot of activity experienced by all investigators. We still cant say that the building is haunted but it defiantly has a lot of unexplained happenings.
We hope to get back to the Latonia again in the near future. Maybe we will be able to put all of the pieces together of all of the occurrences and get a definitive answer. Is the Latonia haunted?
We extend our thanks to the owners of the Latonia.
The slam was captured on audio but did not turn up on any of our cameras that were located throughout the building.
